Because today, we won our trial! It was the quickest deliberation ever (to borrow a word from America's Next Top Model) on the jury's part, and within three minutes they had their verdict. Our side was not guilty! I love mock trial, it's so much fun.
Today when I was being questioned, I said some pretty stupid things--let's just say I pretty much insisted I wouldn't freak out if a dog were barreling toward me (I definitely would). However, I was the best witness because everything I said was true to my statement. And I was an okay questioner, but when you're on the stand it's sooooo nerve-wracking. I was practically shaking, I was so nervous.
Anyway, we won, even though some things clearly pointed against us. After the jury's verdict was announced, she pointed out some things that we knew, but since we were being smart, we didn't dwell on any of those points. I'm so happy! In a few weeks, we're going to be practicing for graduation during some of our morning classes and we're going to have extra time in the afternoon classes, so we're going to do another trial that doesn't count for any grades. I'm pretty excited for that too.
