Today was our second last hurrah (wow, how oxymoronic), in the form of a trip to the semi-nearby swim club to tan, chill, eat, swim, and have fun. I did four of the five, if you wanna guess which ones. =] Well, so we were carted off at nine in the morning when it was pleasantly warm outside. Because of my sunscreen mishap at Great Adventure, today I made sure I applied enough sunscreen to coat three whales with the slippery, gooey stuff. I borrowed my friend's SPF 70 super-super-super strength and put it EVERYWHERE. I wasn't risking getting a weird tanline from my bikini, which had little heart-shaped rings holding it together on the sides instead of strings. I mean, who wants to have a tanline in the shape of a heart?
Anyhoo, we had to take a swim test upon arrival to make sure we knew how to swim. We had to jump in and swim across the dive tank, and then we were given bright pink, tan-line-inducing bracelets for access to the deep end, which I thought was pathetic but whatever, I know there were a few people that don't know how to swim. Then we watched as everyone took turns doing flips, dives, and all-around weird moves off the diving boards, but that got boring fast so we went and played tennis. Well, I sat in the shade and watched, because I seriously didn't wanna tan...at all. Then Heather hurt her foot so I had to locate a band-aid (and a bathroom, because I seriously had to GO). We swam a little more, blahblahblah, it was kind of boring to be honest, and then we decided to get lunch.
The teachers thought it would be a good idea to implement lunch in shifts. No one actually followed that particular rule and everyone just kind of drifted over there. We waited an hour and a half to get salty, greasy, ketchupy, amazing, greasy, did I mention SALTY?!?!? fries (yummy yummy) and a slushie (not so yummy but hey, I still love slushies) and that was basically it.
Except...when we got back to school, there were three deep vats of Rita's Italian ice waiting for us, wooooohooooo! I <3 Rita's ice, and while they didn't have my favorite flavor, grape, they had blueberry, which was awesome except for the disconcerting purple blueberry stuck in the middle of it. SO out of place, but whatever. So that really was our last hurrah...next is graduation. On Tuesday. omg omg omg...I'm graduating. And I'm never looking back. Grrrrr. This is it!!! xoxo, Caiti
